Aurélien Chatagnier began its operation in 2002 with 1.2 hectares leased, mainly planted with local wines. He kept a complementary activity until 2005, which allowed him to develop little by little, with the help of a few benevolent winegrowers (notably Pierre Gaillard). Today, the farm consists of a little over 6 hectares with 1400 bottles each year. The vines are located in 3 departments: the Rhône, with the Côte-Rôtie parcels in Ampuis (Côte Brune), the Loire, in the commune of Malleval (Saint Joseph) and the Ardèche, in the communes of Limony (Condrieu, Saint Joseph and IGP), Charnas (Saint Joseph and IGP) and Ardoix (Saint Joseph). As far as possible, the vines are worked without weed killers or pesticides, and with the strict minimum of sulphur.

Let me seduce you with my beautiful dark garnet colour with purple glints. |

I smell of ripe and elegant red fruit, with a touch of spices like tobacco and cedar, probably coming straight from the oak barrel. |

Once you’ve tasted me, you’ll get surprised with a concentrated mouthful of fruit, sustained with a nice acidity, and a long ripe finish with notes of lard. I can also demonstrate a touch of minerality, but mostly I am what they call, a beautiful expression of a Rhone Syrah. Fresh and silky with subtle notes of sour cherry and hints of violets. |

Definitely over a nice juicy barbecue rib-eye, or a crusty lamb rack. |
