The Pinot Noir “1885” by Louise Dubois is a sophisticated and refined expression of one of the world’s most noble and delicate grape varieties. Originating from the lush valleys of the French wine region, this wine captures the essence of the unique terroir in which it was grown.

The harvest of Pinot Noir “1885” was carefully selected to ensure that only the most mature and high-quality grapes were used. Fermentation was conducted in small oak vats to ensure precise control of the process, followed by aging in barrique that allowed the wine to develop complexity and finesse.

Visually, the Pinot Noir “1885” presents itself with an elegant ruby red color, with nuances that tend towards garnet with aging. On the nose, it offers an intriguing bouquet, with notes of ripe cherry, raspberry, and a touch of sweet spices like vanilla and cinnamon, enriched by a subtle thread of wood smoke.

The Story of the Family

Following the French Revolution in 1789, the biggest Burgundy estates have been shared in several “Estates” and auctioned, which will change significantly the landscape of the French vineyards.

In 1805, the Dubois family, coming from Paris, was one of the first families to buy vineyards in Burgundy, and the birth of Louise Dubois in 1885 was the beginning of a new adventure for their company. Located in Premeaux-Prissey, near Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine Dubois produces a range of 21 appellations over 21 hectares of vines: white and red Burgundy, Burgundy Hautes Côtes de Nuits, Nuits Saint-Georges 1er cru, Savigny-les-Beaune 1er cru, Clos de Vougeot, producing around 100,000 bottles a year.
