The Story of the Family
The Regin family has been established in Wolxheim for over a century. The presence of a vineyard in the family dates back to the early twentieth century. Joseph Regin, born in 1891, managed his estate essentially by using mixed farming methods, and grew a few acres of vines on the side.
For a number of years, Joseph worked with his son Justin on the farm. Later, to give a new impetus to the estate, Justin, abandoned gradually the activities of mixed farming in favor of developing the vineyard. Encouraged by the know-how and important skills he had acquired, Justin started the bottling and marketing of his own production in the mid-70s.
Andre, Justin’s youngest son, was not prepared to make a career as a lover of the vine, nor as a meticulous winemaker. Life circumstances decided otherwise. Following his studies in electro technique, he returns to the family estate in 1980 and works in the vineyard with his parents. After their premature death, he quickly becomes lonely. Motivated, determined and passionate, he gradually increases the sales and expands his vineyard. His wife, Catherine, leaves her job to join and support him. Young and ambitious, they give it all they have with courage and determination. Together, they modernize the estate and expand it.
Thomas, the eldest son, studied biology and is currently specializing in oenology at the School of Dijon.
“Like great wines, from difficult circumstances beautiful things are born.”
