Colour: Dark core, verging on black with purple rim.
Aroma: Brooding aromas of dark plum, black cherry, blueberry compote and dark chocolate. Complex aromas of Moroccan spices play a secondary role. Palate: Rich mouth-coating flavours of forest fruits, dense midpalate with savoury French oak spice and fine grain tannins. Ironstone mineral edge with long finish. A true reflection of the Marananga subregion and the strong 2020 vintage. Winner of the 2021 Barossa Valley Wine Show Best 2020 Shiraz Riedel Award, and 2021 Marananga Wine Show Best Shiraz 2021 or Younger Award. Partner with beef short rib or rack of lamb. The Shiraz is sourced from our two vineyards located in Marananga on the western ridge of the Barossa Valley. Age of the vines range from 30- 80 years of age. Each parcel of Shiraz was hand harvested at optimal phenological ripeness and destemmed to open top fermenters with heading down boards. Twice daily pumpovers were carried out to ensure maximum extraction of colour, flavour and tannin from the grape skins. The wine was basket pressed to one and two-year-old French oak Hogsheads for 18 months maturation. The wine is unfined and unfiltered. Varietal composition: Shiraz 100%
